Weather Decision Technologies (WDT) has a unique capability to work with meteorological research organizations to transfer their latest technologies to the commercial weather industry. WDT has built a very high availability capability to access real-time data feeds from all over the globe adding value to them and providing the data and state-of-the-science products to many clients and partners in the Weather Sphere and beyond.
One important capability that WDT has built is a fully operational Doppler weather radar data ingest system that accesses high-resolution radar data from all of the WSR-88D radars and other meteorological data streams, then creates superior weather services that run operationally in real-time. These weather services include high-resolution radar mosaics, precipitation estimates, precipitation nowcasts (0-4 hour high-resolution forecasts) and severe weather predictions. WDT provides this real-time content to other weather companies, Internet and news media organizations, utilities, transportation companies and television stations.
WDT also has a thriving international market where it provides custom Weather Decision Support Systems™ to large international clients. The decision support systems that WDT provides are focused on providing vital information to typically government aviation or water management organizations. In addition, WDT provides custom WRF modeling systems to international clients. These systems have been deployed in countries all over the globe.
