Bergey Windpower Company

Bergey Windpower Company (BWC) originated from research activities at the University of Oklahoma in 1970.  These activities included feasibility studies and the construction of three experimental wind turbines. From these collaborative research beginnings, BWC has grown to be one of the world’s leading suppliers of small wind turbines. BWC has installations in all 50 states and more than 100 countries.

BWC now offers advanced-technology products that let homeowners and businesses generate their own clean wind power.  BWC turbines are also used for off-grid homes, for rural electrification, and to boost the performance of solar electric systems.

In addition to being a member of the Weather Sphere, BWC is a member of the American Wind Energy Association and the Business Council for Sustainable Energy. BWC is also a member of more than a dozen state renewable energy associations.

BWC has received two national design awards, and its wind turbines have been featured in Life, Popular Science, Design News, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times and USA Today.
